Pathways Mentors
Build a lasting lifelong impact in the future of a Long Beach High School youth by becoming a mentor through Long Beach Pathways to Justice Careers (LBPJC) today. It only takes 2 hours a month for 7-months to make a difference.
Share the lessons that helped you become successful and guide a young adult to reach their goal.
We are seeking mentors who are:
- Current or former professionals in the Justice and Emergency Response fields:
- Law Enforcement
- Fire Fighters
- Lawyers
- Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT)
- Forensics workers
- Military
- Paralegals
- Law Clerks
- First Responders
- And others who work in related fields in Justice and Emergency Response
- College Students from CSULB, CSUDH, or other Universities in the area majoring in Justice and Emergency Response fields:
- Criminology and Criminal Justice
- Emergency Management
- Emergency Services Administration
- Social Work
- Military Science
- Forensic Studies
- And other related majors in the field of Justice and Emergency Response
Mentors will need to pass a live scan.
As a mentor you will receive support and work from a structured step-by-step guide based on 7 sessions of mentorship activities for group mentorship. You will also receive a mentorship orientation training (2 hours) prior to beginning, where you will be linked to a youth and learn about trauma informed care, how to build a mentorship- mentee relationship, and the mentorship 7 session curriculum.
